About

I have recently come to the end of my career as Lead Family and Systemic Psychotherapist in an NHS CAMHS service.

I now practice as an Independent Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and Systemic Supervisor. I also work with charitable organisations providing clinical and supervision services.

I have worked in various roles in the NHS , with people at all life stages from pregnancy , birth , early years , primary and secondary years , parents and adults. My work as a Family Therapist to date, and going ahead will focus, when possible on ecosystemic approaches with individuals, sub groups of families, parents and family groups. I have been privileged to work, in different settings with parents in pregnancy and early years- something I enjoy opportunities to continue my systemic practice in.

My intention when working as a Family Therapist is to provide space for people experiencing difficulty to explore their sense of self in the context of their relationships and belonging in their life.

Helpful professional support during times of distress, hurt and challenge can allow new ways of thinking , processing and organising self with significant others around you. Experiencing support and shared understanding of yourself , individually or with family can positively impact and collectively combine family strength and resources to sustain hope and change, going forward.

Family Therapists are interested in family beliefs, values and culture. Also, the patterns and cycles of connection people appreciate or lose sight of during times of change, challenge and life stages. Family Therapists aim to work with the family to slow down and think together about what is organising them and how or if they want or need this to change.
