Family and Systemic Psychotherapy – Family Therapy
If you are thinking about or want to find out more about Family Therapy – it is best to access these UK websites, to give information and context to what Family Therapy is and how it is regulated. These general UK websites also, hopefully answer some of your questions about what Family therapy is – and is not.
If you would like to make contact with me , as you are thinking about therapy, I offer a free 30 minute consultation, to meet and discuss your needs and think together if I can be helpful. We can meet on line or in person.
If after consultation, we agree to proceed with therapy, we will sign and agree our therapeutic agreement and contract. The agreement and contract gives more detail on my practice responsibilities and requirements and informs our work together going ahead in therapy.
It is important to have this agreement, to ensure we focus on what is needed and together we develop a sense of the length of therapy commitment e.g. short- long term. Throughout therapy, we continue to identify and incorporate any changes required, as therapy progresses.
Each session will allow space to review, adjust and develop sessions appropriately through feedback processes.
It is a brave step to stop and identify a need for help and support with your emotional and mental health and wellbeing.
If you have found the process of considering this information upsetting or distressing , it would be important to access your GP to discuss this further , or call NHS 111 for immediate access to help.
